Deadline Extended: Still Time to Submit to Emerson 2020

The deadline to submit to Emerson 2020 has been extended through May 1. That means there is still time for parents, students, faculty, and staff to provide wonderful and inspiring messages and memories.

Graduating students are invited to share the memories and experiences that made their time at Emerson special. You can share the work that made you excited: film trailers, performance pieces, projects, poems, essays, stories — whatever you’re proud of and want to share! It is OK to submit works that have been used in other venues such as literary magazines, Emerson Channel, EVVYs, and elsewhere.

“The Emerson 2020 Celebration is not replacing our graduation ceremonies — we’ll hold those in the future. It’s a completely different online event celebrating the class of 2020 and the end of the academic year,” said Vicky Peterson, commencement director. “There will be a launch day and time, but the site will be available after that. When we know what that day and time is, we will share it widely.”

Peterson said that so far parents and family members are leading with submissions that include sweet photo collages and recorded congratulatory messages.

“We’d love to have more examples of students’ work, and we know from student surveys that this class wants to hear from faculty and staff, so please keep those heartfelt messages coming!” said Peterson.
