Womxn’s History Month Series: Sara Morgan on Global Brand Program Manager Best Practices

With March being Womxn’s History Month, Emerson’s Career Development Center is presenting its third annual Womxn of Emerson Series. The series highlights Emerson womxn in the arts and communication and the many ways we define success.

Sara Morgan is a “Double Lion” alumna of Emerson College. In 2005, she received her B.A. in Communications with a focus on Audio/Radio and then went on to receive her M.A. in Integrated Marketing Communication in 2010. Throughout her career, she has worked as a marketing manager for law, education publishing, and higher education. Currently, she is the Global Brand Program Manager at SAI Global.

Morgan was asked about being a global brand manager and what are some best practices when working with clients outside of the United States:

It’s extremely important to approach colleagues and clients from across the globe with an open mind and acceptance. You never know how someone’s communication or perspective has been shaped by their background, geography, political climate or even lack of knowledge of your perspective. You really have to start most conversations with a clean slate and not make any assumptions.
