Nominations Open for Spirit of Emerson, Kindness Awards
Know someone with the Emerson spirit? Or who spreads kindness among the Emerson community?
Nominate them for the Tom Cooper Spirit of Emerson or Robert Colby Kindness Award! The winner/s of each will receive $400 (split among all members if a group wins).
Nominations will be accepted from any member of the Emerson community. Anyone who has been a part of the Emerson community for at least one year for the Spirit of Emerson Award, and two years for the Kindness Award, is eligible to be nominated. Community members include students, staff, faculty, administrators, parents, alumni, Alumni Board members, trustees, or advisors.
Nominees for the Spirit of Emerson Award must meet at least three of 10 criteria, including building morale within the Emerson community; making Emerson a better place; or making substantial contributions to advancing social justice, inclusiveness, and diversity. The full list of criteria can be found on the Spirit of Emerson website.
The Robert Colby Kindness Award celebrates those who live and exude kindness by example; demonstrate universal, non-discriminatory kindness; and those whose kindness goes above and beyond what is expected of them in their job or role in the community.
