Since December 2023, the Strategic Planning committees, with the help of Huron Consulting Group, have been asking Emerson stakeholders what they think the College’s priorities should be.

To help bridge the divides that emerged in the community last spring and lean into Emerson’s strengths in communication and arts, the College has launched EmersonTogether.
Emerson College’s motto, “Expression Necessary to Evolution,” has long helped inform its commitment to speech and dialogue for many years, and the College remains committed to free speech and civil dialogue as core principles and values.

Dr. Kate Eichhorn, current Dean and Professor of Culture and Media Studies at The New School in New York City, has accepted our offer to join Emerson College as our next Dean of the School of the Arts in the Fall 2024 semester.
I am excited to announce that Dr. Jon Derek Croteau, a 1998 Emerson graduate who has served in senior strategic roles in industry and higher education, has accepted my offer to join the College as our new Vice President of Strategy, Innovation, and Institutional Initiatives.
