Schriever ’02, Wittman Up for Tonys

For the second year in a row, Jennifer Schriever ’02 was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Lighting Design.

This year, Schriever is up for Best Lighting Design of a Play for her work on Death of a Salesman. She was nominated in the Musical category in 2022 for A Strange Loop.

And Scott Wittman, who attended Emerson with the Class of 1976, is up for Best Musical and Best Original Score for Some Like It Hot, which he co-wrote with Marc Shaiman. Some Like It Hot topped this year’s nominations.

Wittman previously won a Tony, a Grammy, and an Olivier Award for Hairspray and was nominated for an Oscar for his work on Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns.

Tony Nominations were announced Tuesday, May 2, and will be awarded on Sunday, June 11. The ceremony will be shown on CBS and Paramount +.
