COVID Update: Planning for Thanksgiving

Dear Emerson community,

In preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday break (November 23-27, 2022) and to continue to ensure the health and safety of the Emerson College community, we are writing to share a few reminders about our COVID policies and the Flu Clinics.

Thanksgiving Break

If you test positive for COVID during the Thanksgiving break, you must finish your isolation at your current residence before returning to campus. Students must report their positive test results within 24 hours to Health Services by completing the COVID Self-Report Form. If you have any questions, please contact covid19@emerson.edu.

COVID Vaccines Requirements

As a reminder, according to the College’s vaccine requirements, you are considered up-to-date with your COVID-19 vaccines if you have:

  • Received two doses of the FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine and a booster
  • Or one dose of the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine and booster

If you have not received a booster, you are not up-to-date with the College’s COVID-19 vaccine requirements. Individuals who have not received any previous COVID-19 boosters will need to get the COVID-19 bivalent booster to remain in compliance with the College’s vaccine requirements, since the monovalent booster is no longer available. Please take the time during your Thanksgiving break to get up-to-date with your COVID vaccines. COVID holds will only be removed if students are up-to-date with their COVID vaccines or have an approved medical or religious exemption.

Flu Clinics for December 2022

We had a great turnout at the Flu Clinics these past few months. Thank you to all the students who have taken their flu shots at Emerson Wellness Center. We strongly encourage you to obtain a flu shot if you haven’t already. Emerson Wellness Center has two Flu Clinic dates in December: Tuesday, December 6, from 1:00-2:00 pm, and Wednesday, December 21, from 3:00-4:00 pm. Students do not need an appointment to get their flu shot. However, students are seen on a first-come, first serve basis until supplies last. For more information on the Flu Clinics, please visit the Emerson Wellness Center’s website.

We hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving break and look forward to seeing you back on campus.

Stay Well,
