Gianvito’s Her Socialist Smile Named a Top 10 Documentary in International Critics’ Poll: IndieWire
Visual and Media Arts professor and filmmaker John Gianvito’s 2020 film Her Socialist Smile was named a Top 10 Documentary (at #7) in a global survey of 187 critics for IndieWire. The documentary is a reflection of Helen Keller’s life championing progressive causes.
It premiered in September 2020 at the 58th New York Film Festival, and followed in Austria and Italy.
