Raynauld Analyzes Political Personalization and Local Campaigns: Policy Options

Communications Studies associate professor Vincent Raynauld co-wrote an opinion piece with l’Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières Professor Mireille Lalancette on the website Policy Options about the political personalization and local campaigns. Raynauld and Lanacette examined a case study based on the 2021 Canadian federal election.

His personal life was not leveraged to highlight qualities or competencies, but instead used to humanize him in the eyes of his supporters and the public at large in ways that could potentially expand his support.
