Emerson’s Voice Technology Design and Coding Bootcamp Launching February 29
Leap Day will be Launch Day this year, as Voice@Emerson is launching an accelerated class to earn a first-in-industry Voice Technology Design and Coding certificate.
“As Emerson College was founded as a school or oratory, it is incredibly fitting that the College is forging a path forward for professionals eager to gain essential skills for successful careers in the emerging field of voice technology and design,” said Sanjay Pothen, Emerson Launch Director.
The boot camp is a collaboration between at Voice@Emerson and Stack Education, a Boston-based education company that works with higher education institutions to create innovation economy programming.
The 18-week interactive class begins on Leap Day, February 29, and will meet three times a week from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, combining both remote and in-person classes
Students will gain real work experience by working with local industry practitioners on an industry project. This program is great for those with little or no experience in Voice Tech, IoT, or coding, to learn skills that employers are looking for jobs such Voice UI Designers, Conversational Designers, Voice Application Developers, Web Developers, QA Engineers, Junior Software Engineers, Technical Product Managers, and more.
At the end of this course, graduates will have gained the skills to:
- Utilize VUI (Voice User Interface) and VUX (Voice User Experience) industry best practices to design voice technology applications and voice interactions
- Design and code Amazon Alexa Voice Skills and other voice applications from the ground up
- Build web applications from start to finish, using JavaScript, Node.js, HTML, CSS, and more, including building and interacting with RESTful APIs
- Apply their technical skills in real world settings, navigating the challenges of communicating under pressure, collaborating with cross functional teams, and more.
