Owen Eagan, a lecturer in Communication Studies, was featured in a Variety story about the 15th anniversary of the African American Film Critics Association.
Eagan is included among 17 supporters of the AAFCA, a professional organization for arts and entertainment journalists of color, profiled in the piece.
In his profile, Eagan “calls the AAFCA an ‘invaluable resource for our students interested in journalism and the cinematic arts’ because it focuses on films that showcase the black experience.”
Eagan also worked with AAFCA co-founder Gil Robertson to launch Kaleidoscope Reviews, which aims to promote diversity among film and TV critics.
