The men of Emerson College’s Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) participated last weekend in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF) One Walk. The men have raised roughly $2000.

SAE President Sean Dever ’16 was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in the 7th grade. The brotherhood has been participating in the JDRF event in his honor for the last two years.

“This charity means so very much to me,” said Dever. “I’m a Type 1 diabetic and a couple of close friends of mine are also diabetic and this charity is like a beacon of hope. It’s an indication that a cure is in sight. As long as people like my friends, and brothers, and I continue to work hard to raise both money and awareness, [I think] we will witness a cure to Type 1 diabetes in my lifetime.
