Knight to take on newly created role

Visual and Media Arts Associate Professor Brooke Knight has been named faculty assistant to the president, a newly created part-time administrative role.

Knight’s responsibilities will include serving in an ex-officio capacity on the recently reconstituted All-College Advisory Council, a faculty body that provides feedback and counsel to the president. He will also provide ongoing support for the work on faculty development and culture that has already begun with the guidance and counsel of the Faculty Sub-committee of the Transition Team.

“I am confident that Brooke’s experience as chair of both the Faculty Assembly and the Transition Team Faculty Sub-committee will serve the faculty well in this new role,” President Lee Pelton said.

“President Pelton wants to be able to better connect and talk with faculty. This position, along with the All-College Advisory Council, are just ways to add to the communication between the president’s office and the faculty,” said Knight.

Knight will retain his faculty status and continue to pursue his creative work and College service. The new role will be temporary and reviewed annually.
