New Date: Emerson Alert Test on Friday, June 14

Dear members of the Emerson community,

The College will test its Emergency Notification System, Emerson Alert, for the Boston and Los Angeles campuses on Friday, June 14, at 12:00 pm ET and 9:00 am PT. This state-of-the-art system enables the College to communicate with students, faculty, and staff in the event of an emergency. It simultaneously transmits messages via telephone, email, text messaging (SMS), social media, and the Emerson Alert speaker system on the Boston campus.

Please note that this test will incorporate the Emerson Alert speaker system on the Boston campus. The speakers will deliver an initial tone alert followed by the broadcast of the test message. The speakers are enabled with strobe lighting during alert notifications in order to optimize visibility. The test alert will broadcast over the speaker system for approximately two minutes during Friday’s test.

The College strongly encourages you to verify your contact information and notification preferences by visiting emerson.edu/emersonalert, using your Emerson login. We recommend that you add at least one mobile phone number to the system, as this is the fastest way to receive alert messages.

If you do not receive a test notification at the scheduled test time highlighted above, please update your contact information at emerson.edu/emersonalert.

If you need assistance updating your contact information in Emerson Alert, please contact the IT Help Desk at 617-824-8080.
