Comm Studies Class Partnering with U.S.’s First Public Elementary School on Book Drive

On the Same Page Boston, a nonprofit run by students in Cathy Edelstein’s Nonprofit Fundraising Campaign course, is once again launching a campaign to provide Boston Public School students inclusive and diverse books.

From November 5 – December 5, students will run a campaign for the Mather Elementary School in Dorchester – the first public elementary school in the United States. The Mather School also is the only bilingual Vietnamese school within BPS. 

Books may be donated via an Amazon wish list.

Now in its fifth year, approximately 7,000 books have been donated to the seven Boston Public Schools On the Same Page Boston have partnered with. 

Last year, BPS Superintendent Mary Skipper attended the launch, affirming how valuable the campaign is to the district.
