Emerson alum and Los Angeles affiliated faculty member Gary Grossman ’70 teamed up with the creators of the National Treasure movie franchise on his latest novel, The Midas Touch, which was released on June 2.

Grossman, an Emmy Award-winning TV producer, novelist, and former Emerson Trustee, and National Treasure executive producers Charles Segars and Oren Aviv, created an international thriller that connects threads of history and legend (the Rosetta Stone, the pirate Jean Lafitte, the Alchemist’s Gold Theory) in a race to stop a “catastrophic economic weapon” from wreaking havoc on the world.

“I love writing relatable thrillers that are rooted in history, and I invite readers to join us in exploring the possibilities, the ‘what ifs,’” Grossman said in a press release. “The grand mystery in The Midas Touch asks ‘Is there more to the Rosetta Stone than ever imagined, and where could the knowledge, if discovered, lead?”

Grossman is the author of 10 novels, including the Red Hotel and Executive thriller series, and has produced for more than 40 broadcast and cable television networks, earning multiple Emmy Awards and nominations. He is a member of the International Thriller Writers Association.
