UnCommon New Season Opens with Fresh Look
The UnCommon Corner officially reopens for its third season on Friday, May 2, with refreshed look and an all-new lineup of arts programming and entertainment.
Encompassing Emerson’s UnCommon Stage, Harpoon Beer Garden, and El Jefe’s Taqueria, and presented in partnership with the City of Boston, the UnCommon Corner is the first venue of its kind in Boston and Emerson’s “front yard.” Located in Boston Common near the corner of Tremont and Boylston streets, it will be open to the public 12:00 to 9:00 pm, Tuesday through Sunday, weather permitting.
Entertainment at the UnCommon Corner ranges from local musicians and Emerson’s WERS 88.9 FM broadcasts, to dance, games, and interactive family-friendly programs. The stage is programmed by Community Curators, including organizations and individuals such as BAMS Fest, Ágora Cultural Architects, Departure Arts, Maria Hendricks, HipStory, and others.
This year, thanks to the help of design firm Visual Dialogue, the UnCommon Corner has a sharp new look and more signage, including a colorful wrap around the perimeter evocative of sound waves, bright yellow seating with blue umbrellas, and a stage backdrop that spells out “UnCommon Corner” in blue bottle caps.
Refreshments include local craft beer, the bespoke UnCommon Marg, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from Harpoon, alongside Mexican street food from El Jefe’s.
Entertainment and performance details, operating hours, and menus can be found via the Emerson College UnCommon Corner website: https://uncommoncorner.org. Or follow them on Instagram.
