Raynauld on Political Memes & 2024 Election: The Conversation

Communication Studies associate professor Vincent Raynauld and Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières faculty Mireille Lalancette co-published a piece in French for the academic news site The Conversation on the role and impact of political memes in the 2024 election, and what that may indicate in 2025 for Canada’s elections.

This trend is also shaping the way the public perceives, understands and participates in politics. It is set to intensify as social media takes a more prominent place in the information diet of members of the public, and as the audience for traditional media declines.
