Life Helps ‘Actors Inhabit’ Characters in ‘The Islanders’: Boston Globe

Senior Distinguished Director in Residence Reggie Life is directing the world premiere of playwright Carey Crim’s funny, complex new show The Islanders.

The Boston Globe wrote about the play being presented by Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Massachusetts. The story is about a new neighbor who shakes up the quiet life of a longtime resident of a remote island in Michigan.

Life has directed other plays by Crim, and Crim really likes Life’s directorial skills.

The script can be read one way on the page, but there’s lots of subtext that you have to find when it’s on its feet. Because Reggie knows my work, he can spend more time helping the actors inhabit the characters.
