Raynauld on Partisan ‘Pink Slime’ Sites: TechNewsWorld

Communication Studies associate professor Vincent Raynauld talked with TechNewsWorld about pink slime news sites.

Pink slime sites are sites that portray themselves as something that they’re not. Sometimes they are politically-based, but not always. These sites pose a threat as they spread disinformation.

Raynauld spoke about how pink slime sites are partisan.

“Partisanship is becoming an increasingly big component of how people behave politically and in their personal life. There are dating websites where your political identity is becoming a key component of how people introduce themselves. Pink slime builds on that dynamic to make a quick buck.”
