Lion Pride: Women’s Soccer Nets All-Conference Honors; Emersonians Named to Sportsmanship Team

Four Emerson College women’s soccer players were selected to NEWMAC’s 2023 All-Conference First Team. Two more players were chosen for the All-Conference Second Team.

Forward Brittney Righetti ’24, midfielder Yoshiko Slater ’25, defender Anna Swisher ’25, and goalkeeper Amara Schaub ’25, were all named to the first team. Forward Gina Lukoskie ’24 and midfielder Madeline Khaw ’25, were both selected to the second team.

The awards are determined by the conference’s 12 coaches following the conclusion of regular season play.

NEWMAC also announced its postseason Sportsmanship Team, which is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team, in every sport, that “best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of their overall performance or statistics for the season.”

The honorees were selected by their coaching staff, and have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior that go beyond the sport’s playing rules and etiquette. The following Emersonians were named to the team:

Men’s cross country: Oliver Glass ’23

Women’s cross country: Samantha Zannotti ’25

Men’s soccer: Ivan Bruce ’25

Women’s soccer: Lauren Larking ’25

Women’s volleyball: Isabella Bowler ’25
