Artists for Humanity Exhibit Work of Burdett, MFA ’20

Artists for Humanity (AFH) is honoring the life and work of multimedia artist Gregory Maxim Burdett, MFA ’20 with Never Forever, an exhibition of Burdett’s art, now through May 22.

Burdett, who died suddenly in July 2021, formerly was the director and lead mentor of AFH’s Video & Motion Design Studio.

“The AFH gallery will be filled with Greg’s vibrant energy, attitude, and wit, and visitors will be able to get an up-close look at the prolific body of work he created during his lifetime,” AFH writes. “Join us for art, laughter, and dancing as we remember our dear friend and the impact he made on the lives of all those he touched.”

Burdett was a true multimedia artist, who worked in graffiti art, painting, illustration, graphic design, film, and music. At the time of his death, he just wrapped as a set decorator on the film Space Oddity. He had also worked on the sets of Dexter, Chopped, and Mother Android. In addition to his work at AFH, Burdett had worked for the United Way in New York and the Thomas Young Gallery in South Boston.

The exhibit will open Wednesday, March 29, 5:00-7:00 pm, with a reception and Open Studio, at Artists for Humanity, 100 West 2^nd Street, South Boston. AFH will give studio tours throughout the evening, where guests can learn about AFH’s mission and meet teen artists. AFH gives under-resourced teens in Boston paid employment in art and design.
