Houston Named Athlete and Defensive Player of the Year for Second Consecutive Season

Emerson College men’s basketball center Jarred Houston ’22 was named the NEWMAC Athlete of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Houston averaged a double-double this season, ranking second in the conference in scoring at 19.4 points per game, and first in rebounds with 13.0 per game. He also shot 60.7% from the field, averaged 3.7 blocks per game, and dished out 3.2 assists per game.

Max Davis ’22 and Nate Martin ’23 earned 2nd Team All-Conference. Davis put 14.4 points per game, and Martin averaged 14.9 points per game.

The Lions were seeded 2nd in the NEWMAC Postseason tournament, and lost to #3 seed Babson.
