Student Story Looks at Art Benefits for Black Children: Parents Magazine

Parents Magazine’s new Kindred platform published a piece by Journalism major Chloe Shaar ’24, who pitched, wrote, and refined the piece as part of a directed study with Communication Studies affiliated faculty member Elizabeth Siwo.

The story, a first-person piece backed by research, is about the benefits of creative outlets in reducing anxiety and depression in kids, particularly among children of color.
