Hofbauer, Jack Album a Top Pick for 2021: Jazziz Magazine

Jazziz Magazine named Period Pieces [Creative Nation Music], the latest album from Performing Arts affiliated faculty members Eric Hofbauer and Dylan Jack to its Critics’ Picks for Best Albums of 2021 [link behind paywall].

Guitarist Hofbauer and drummer Jack, playing with trumpeter Jerry Sabatini and Tony Leva on bass and electronics, “weave together a polyglot flow of ideas, often working their way into tight grooves and melodies that seamlessly move in and out of free improvisation,” Jazziz writes.

The result “delights the ear as the band travels down surprising avenues and alleys, not to mention sidewalks and backyards.”
