Emerson Enhancement Fund Applications Open
Dear Emerson Community:
The College is able to offer the Emerson Enhancement Fund (EEF) each semester to help support enrichment experiences for students. Both graduate and undergraduate students with identified financial need can apply for an award to enrich their collegiate experience through extracurricular programming. Approved award amounts range from $250 to $4,000. This application is for any Spring 2022 term activities.
Educational co-curricular/extracurricular opportunities, whether virtual or in-person that are eligible for EEF consideration include, but are not limited to, unpaid internships, study abroad travel expenses, educational research, conference registration/travel, and other plans that will enrich students’ experiences beyond regular classroom interaction.
Interested graduate and undergraduate students must first email finaid@emerson.edu with the subject line “Can I apply for EEF?” to confirm eligibility. After you receive a confirmation email, you will need to complete the application form available online on the EEF information page www.emerson.edu/emerson-enhancement-fund. As a reminder, the Money Matters financial literacy program is available to help any student in need of assistance with creating their budget. Students can contact money_matters@emerson.edu to schedule an appointment. Please note, the College closes December 24th for winter break and will reopen January 3rd.
The deadline for EEF applications is Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Selected applicants will be notified by Friday, January 28.
Successful applications will:
- Be able to demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid (all financial aid applications must be complete);
- Detail clearly the nature of the proposed initiative;
- Provide an explanation as to why this initiative is of particular interest;
- Explain the anticipated impact of the grant upon his or her Emerson experience;
- Provide a simple budget form that details how the money will be spent during the award period; and
- Provide a brief statement of support from a faculty or staff member.
To request help in applying for the EEF, contact: finaid@emerson.edu, 617-824-8655 (option 2).
Once the Office of Financial Aid has determined eligibility, the EEF Grant Committee will review qualified requests. EEF committee members include: Assistant Vice President of Student Success, Assistant Vice President of Student Financial Services, Assistant Vice President of Academic Administration and Finance, Director of Financial Aid, Director of Student Success, Access, and Belonging, Director of Financial Wellness, Education, and Communications, an Assistant Director of Student Success, an Assistant Director of Financial Aid, and a Financial Aid Counselor.
We hope that many students will be able to make use of the EEF opportunity to enrich their Emerson College education.
Sincerely,
Ruthanne M. Madsen, EdD
Vice President for Enrollment Management
