Board of Trustees member and alum Kevin Bright ’76 is an executive producer of Friends: The Reunion, which was nominated for four Emmy Awards this week: outstanding production design for a variety special, outstanding directing for a variety special, outstanding lighting design/lighting direction for a variety special, and outstanding variety special (pre-recorded).
Bright, who serves as co-chair of the Institutional Advancement Committee of the Board of Trustees, attributes his success story to Emerson in a big way. “Emerson is the place that nurtured me to become the person I am today, my debt to the College is one that I will never forget.”
The HBO Max special was the long-awaited reunion of the Friends cast; the iconic and award-winning show ran on NBC from 1994-2004. The original Friends series, also executive produced by Bright, was nominated for 62 Primetime Emmy Awards, winning Outstanding Comedy Series in 2002.
The 73rd Emmy Awards will air on September 19 at 8 p.m. EST.
