COVID-19 Update: CDC Guidance on Vaccinated Individuals

Hello Emerson community, 

As you may have read in the news today, the CDC has issued new guidance for individuals who have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19.  Fully vaccinated means two weeks post the second vaccine for Pfizer and Moderna, and two-weeks post the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

This is federal guidance, and as with all things that have occurred with COVID-19, we are required to follow Massachusetts state guidance from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.  At this time, Massachusetts has not adjusted or issued updated guidance for vaccinated individuals.  

As such, at this time, Emerson College is not adjusting any COVID-19 policies or guidelines for those individuals who have been able to be fully vaccinated.  We expect all community members who live, study, or work on Boston’s campus, to continue to maintain their testing schedule, quarantine if identified as a close contact, wear a mask, maintain social distance, conduct the daily symptom check, avoid large gatherings, etc.

We continue to monitor the vaccine distribution in Massachusetts, and in partnership with Tufts Medical Center, we still expect to offer the vaccine to all Emerson community members when we are able to in Phase Three.
