Announcing an Online Winter Term and Flex Learning for Spring
Dear Emerson community members,
I am pleased to let you know that undergraduate students will have the option of enrolling in new Winter Term courses, which will take place December 10, 2020 through January 8, 2021. Two-credit and four-credit courses will be offered, and all Winter Term courses will be taught online synchronously and asynchronously. Registration begins on October 5, 2020. Additional information regarding available courses will be shared in the next several days.
Given the current state of the global pandemic, Emerson will continue its hybrid Flex Learning plan for the Spring Term as well as offer a special roster of online-only courses for students who need them, including those who choose not to study in residence. Similar to last semester, graduate program offerings will be determined by the Graduate Program Directors and the Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies. Additional Spring Term details for undergraduates and graduate students, faculty, and staff, will be announced shortly.
In the meantime, undergraduate students will soon receive a survey requesting feedback about their enrollment and housing plans for the Winter and Spring terms. It will be especially important for the College to have a sense of whether students are interested in changing their current learning options (e.g., students currently studying remotely, who plan to be on campus for the spring term, or vice-versa). This survey will be the first of two sent to students regarding their preferences, as the College works to assess and meet the needs of students enrolled in the Winter and Spring terms.
Sincerely,
Michaele Whelan
Provost and VP for Academic Affairs
