Update on Voluntary Early Retirement Program
Dear Colleagues,
We are writing to share with you the successful conclusion of Emerson’s Voluntary Early Retirement Incentive Program (VERIP), which was launched in late July to provide special benefits to eligible employees who elect to retire early from the College. The VERIP was one of several measures taken to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fourteen members of our community have elected to participate in the program and retire early this fall. Collectively, these community members have dedicated an extraordinary 339 years of service to the College. We are immensely grateful for their time, creativity, and energy in helping to make Emerson what is today: a highly sought-after, premiere institution for communication, the arts, and the liberal arts.
The College will provide more information about those staff members who will retire this fall, but for now, we wanted to give these individuals and their supervisors the time and space to first share their news with their closest colleagues.
These individuals have left an indelible mark on this College and this community; we will share plans for a celebration as soon as they are available.
Sincerely,
Paul Dworkis
Vice President for Administration and Finance
