Update: Celebrating the Class of 2020

Dear Class of 2020, faculty, staff, and families,

Last month, we asked all of you to share with us your words, videos, photos, projects and highlights of your time at Emerson so we could create a digital celebration of the Class of 2020. And you came through. Thank You!

All told, we received more than 800 submissions from students, their families, and the extended Emerson community. That is a testament to the dazzling depth and breadth of this class’s creativity and hard work, as well as to the unbreakable bonds they’ve built while here.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be using those submissions to build a website that will highlight the considerable talent that is recognized and nurtured at Emerson and the indelible memories that the Class of 2020 has created here. Look for the Emerson 2020 Celebration Site to launch on Monday, May 25.

Leading up to the 25th, the College will livestream a surprise, virtual event that pays tribute to our graduates. While we don’t want to give it away just yet, we’ll ask you to stay tuned on email and social media, Saturday, May 16, the International Day of Light.

We realize that a website cannot make up for a final semester disrupted by pandemic, nor replace a full Commencement or Graduate Hooding Ceremony surrounded by friends and family. We reaffirm our commitment to hold in-person graduation ceremonies for this class once it is safe to do so.

In the meantime, know that we celebrate and congratulate each and every member of the fabulous Class of 2020.

Sincerely,
The Emerson 2020 Celebration Planning Committee
