Globe Highlights Emerson’s Commencement Ceremony

The Boston Globe attended Emerson’s 139th Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 12, highlighting the commencement address of honorary degree recipient and award-winning journalist Soledad O’Brien and student speaker Nupur Amin.

“You will be told in many various ways all the things that you can not do — that you should not do … and so if I may ask, please do not listen,” O’Brien told the 970 students. “Most people are idiots, and sometimes they just don’t know they’re speaking from fear. And as you head into the world today, you need to be fearless.”
