Roger House on the Future of African American Politics to The Hill

Roger House, an associate professor in American Studies, wrote an opinion column in The Hill: “A new direction for black politics: Power at state, local levels,” and part 1 published this past weekend. House comments that substantial and impactful progress can be on the state level, as evidenced by the close midterm races in Georgia and Florida.

Indeed, now is the time for a new direction in black political thinking. Rather than chasing the illusion of power of a presidential campaign, black America has a chance to acquire real influence in the states where it counts.
