Winkler ’67 added to Alumni Association auction

Actor Henry Winkler ’67 has put himself on the auction block, offering the highest bidder a chance to have lunch with the Arrested Development and Happy Days star.

With bids for the meal beginning at $500, Winkler is the latest addition to the 8th annual Emerson College Alumni Association Scholarship Auction, which lasts through December 6.

Auction participants have the opportunity to bid on nearly 30 items, including impossible-to-find tickets, deals on trips and restaurants, and fantastic once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to enjoy themselves while providing financial aid to Emerson students.

Auction items include a lunch in Los Angeles with Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David, P ’16; tickets to The Colbert Report and The Rachael Ray Show; getaways to Cape Cod, Scottsdale, and Los Angeles; Green Monster tickets to a Red Sox home game; tickets for a performance by John Mayer; and much more.

The Winkler lunch would take place at either a Japanese or Italian restaurant. Since starring on Happy Days as Fonzie, Winkler has enjoyed a full and rewarding career as a producer, director, actor, and New York Times best-selling author of 23 novels for children with writing partner Lin Oliver.

This year, Emerson hopes to raise more than $25,000 and expand the endowment so that annual scholarships can continue to be awarded to both graduate and undergraduate students. The success of previous Alumni Auctions has grown the scholarship from one award of $2,500 to six awards of $4,000 each.

Visit the Bidding for Good fundraising website to bid on each of the items available. For questions, contact Mary Ann Cicala ’99, MA ’09, director of alumni relations, at mary_ann_cicala@emerson.edu.
