McTeigue to appear at L.A. film festival
The 13th annual Emerson Film Festival in Los Angeles is scheduled for Thursday, February 28, at 7:30 pm at the Harmony Gold Preview House, 7655 Sunset Boulevard.
Registration for the event has begun online.
The annual showcase of student work will feature a question-and-answer session with director James McTeigue, who has been in the business for more than 20 years. Beginning as a production assistant in the late 1980s, McTeigue served as assistant director on The Matrix trilogy. Most recently he directed The Raven, Ninja Assassin, and the critically acclaimed V for Vendetta. The Q & A will be moderated by Aaron Ryder ’94.
Student films include The King of the House by Paul Michael MacCarty ’16; Graceland Girls by Jordan Salvatoriello, MFA ’12; Love or Farewell by Shaun Clarke, MFA ’12; Solutionism: A Design Documentary by Hsiao-Yen Jones ’14; and Got You by Bianca Morris ’12.
There will be an after-event reception.
