Comedian Bill Burr '93 will receive an EVVY Award at Emerson College this spring.

 

Stand-up comedian and actor Bill Burr ’93 will receive an award at the 32nd annual EVVY Awards at Emerson College this spring.

Best known for his appearances on Chapelle’s Show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Comedy Central Presents, and Breaking Bad, Burr will receive the EVVYs Alumni Award of Distinction on Friday, May 10, at 7:00 pm at the Cutler Majestic Theatre in Boston.

Tickets will go on sale later in the semester at www.evvyawards.org.

Graduating from Emerson with a degree in radio, Burr, a Boston-area native, has also performed as a guest comedian on the Opie and Anthony Show on SiriusXM satellite radio. He has also performed in two hourlong television specials: HBO’s One Night Stand in 2005, and 2010’s Let It Go on Comedy Central.

With more than 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Burr has also released five albums and has recently branched into dramatic acting by appearing regularly in the critically acclaimed AMC series Breaking Bad.
