ProArts colleges to present showcase

Give Luck a Chance is the first annual Spring Arts Festival sponsored by ProArts Connect. Students from the schools in the ProArts Consortium — Emerson College, Berklee College of Music, Boston Architectural College, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, the Boston Conservatory, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts — will jointly present a showcase on Friday, April 13, that revolves around the themes of luck, accident, and improvisation. The event is hosted by Berklee.

Give Luck a Chance will feature current students and alumni work from all six ProArts schools, including performances, film, music, and art installations. Some of the student work has already been posted on the event’s Tumblr page. Musicians will be interviewed on Berklee’s radio station BIRN and some will have their work aired on that station. Several Emerson students will showcase their work at this year’s event or helped make the event happen: Donnie Welch ’14, Grant Savastano ’14, Melissa Rogers, G’12, Amanda Trock ’12, and Kathryn Marchese ’12.

The event is designed to promote collaboration and creativity among the ProArts schools and bring additional visibility to the ProArts Connect website, which helps to foster those collaborations.

Give Luck a Chance will be held from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. Admission is free, but space is limited, so those wishing to attend should come early. The event is located at Café 939, 939 Boylston and 921 Boylston.
