Students encouraged to take transportation survey
Undergraduates will have a chance to win prizes ranging from a $400 Apple gift card, to a one-semester T pass, to lunch with President Pelton if they participate in the biannual Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Rideshare Transportation Survey this week at emerson.edu/rideshare.
Staff members are also encouraged to take the survey at pages.emerson.edu/departments/rideshare/staff. All participants have to enter an Emerson user name and password twice in order to complete the survey.
The DEP mandates all colleges with 1,000 or more commuters to survey full-time staff and students every two years to learn about their transportation choices as part of the Commonwealth’s Rideshare Program.
The information collected will be used to reduce the number of cars on the road, provide alternative transportation choices, and improve public transportation in Massachusetts. The survey takes 5 minutes to complete and all submissions are anonymous.
This year’s prizes include:
– $400 Apple gift card
– Lunch with President Pelton
– $50 Barnes & Noble gift card
– $50 H&M Apparel gift card
– $50 Boloco gift card
– $50 California Pizza Kitchen gift card
– (4) $25 Starbucks gift card
– 4 Loews movie tickets
– Emerson commuter meal plan
– One-semester T Pass
The associate director of Emerson’s Office of Government and Community Relations, Mary Higgins, is leading Emerson’s participation in the survey. Contact her at mary_higgins@emerson.edu with questions.
