WERS to introduce MemberCard

Emerson’s award-winning radio station WERS will extend a new benefit to its supporters—the WERS MemberCard. Starting in March, those who contribute $75 or more to WERS will receive the MemberCard, which entitles them to an array of discounts, such as two entrées for the price of one at participating restaurants throughout the Boston area, and 11,000 additional 2-for-1 dining and other savings opportunities across the United States and Canada.

WERS MemberCard holders will also enjoy exclusive online benefits by visiting the WERS MemberCard page at membercard.com/wers. There, they can access information about local savings benefits and set up a personal account to enjoy members-only rewards when they shop at more than a thousand national online merchants.

To obtain a WERS MemberCard, viewers may contribute online at wers.org or by calling 617-824-8870. Members will find that by using the WERS MemberCard just a few times, their savings can easily add up to the amount they contributed and more.

“The WERS MemberCard is a fantastic addition to our community,” said Jack Casey, the station’s general manager. “We are offering a generous benefit to our audience, while at the same time creating a circle of community support with WERS, its members, and area businesses. We see it as a real win-win-win for all concerned.”

Since new benefits may be added throughout the year and benefits may change, members are encouraged to check membercard.com/wers or call the toll-free benefits hotline at 1-888-727-4411 for the most up-to-date listings. To receive their discount, members simply present the WERS MemberCard at a participating restaurant to have the cost of the lowest priced entrée deducted from the bill. Restrictions may apply at some locations, and are noted in the directory and on the WERS MemberCard website.

WERS’s MemberCard is administered by Member Benefits, Inc., a company with more than 20 years’ experience in managing member benefits programs for public broadcasting stations. Currently, an estimated 1 million public broadcasting members enjoy MemberCard benefits through their support of more than 140 public broadcasting stations across the nation.

WERS is Boston’s source for music for the independent mind. Providing an eclectic mix of indie rock, alternative, folk with specialty reggae, hip hop, and family-friendly programs, WERS broadcasts commercial free from Emerson College to Boston and beyond.
