As we communicated in our announcement last month, the Presidential Working Group is ready to share our draft findings and recommendations.
A college is only as strong as its people, and Emersonians are indomitable. Today I write to update our community on how our College, as it has for the last 140 years, will endure and move boldly forward in these still uncertain times.
We have unfortunately received news that two additional Emerson staff members on the Boston campus have tested positive for COVID-19. Both individuals are currently recovering off campus.
I am writing to provide you with an update on several College activities.
We write to you as co-chairs of the Presidential Working Group, which was formed to review the Sexual Misconduct prevention and response ecosystem as it pertains to students on our campus, to share an update on the working group’s progress and schedule moving forward.
President Pelton added his perspective to a Boston Globe article describing how local leaders are conducting businesses during this uncertain time, and lessons they are learning.
Unfortunately, we have been informed that an Emerson staff member on the Boston campus has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual is currently recovering in isolation at home, off campus.
I ask all of you to join me in condemning racist and xenophobic acts against members of the Asian community and all marginalized groups. These acts are inconsistent with the values that we hold most dear at Emerson.
Regretfully, I write to you today to inform you that Undergraduate and Graduate Commencement Weekend activities and events, scheduled for Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10, will in fact be postponed this year.
