On April 4 and 5, Emerson hosted the inaugural ComEx: Comedy Extravaganza. The two-day featured work from students in the nation’s first BFA in Comedic Arts program, as well as the campus’ dozen or so comedy troupes, and ended with a late-night talk show style panel featuring alumni comedy writers and stand-ups.
This April 5-6, Emerson will showcase tomorrow’s comic masterminds with the inaugural ComEx Comedy Extravaganza, a two-day festival featuring student performances, sketches, and improv, and a “late nght show” with alumni comedy writers and a stand-up comic.
One of the Grown-ish’s writers this season was Hailey Chavez ’15, and Visual and Media Arts Associate Professor Miranda Banks (who had Chavez in two classes) consulted on the show, working with the writers to make the characters’ college experience believable to audiences.
