What is “Future Ready”? Future Ready was started by the Career Development Center. Its purpose is to showcase and celebrate the ways in which Emerson’s departments and support offices contribute to your professional development.
The event is based on the National Association of Colleges and Employers’ (NACE) Career Competencies. Many of the competencies could be described as soft skills — skills that are helpful in general but may not be connected to a particular action or proficiency with a system. The Career Competencies were developed through hands-on research with employers and describe the ideal skillset for college graduates entering the workforce.
