Emerson LA cleans up beach

A large group of Emerson College Los Angeles students spent their Saturday morning, on February 15, cleaning up Will Rogers State Beach in Los Angeles.

“It’s awesome that we all get up on a Saturday morning…putting in some effort to help the community,” said Devynne Lauchner ’14.

“We split up into teams,” said Andrew Clabaugh ’14. “It added a competitive nature to the whole event. It was good because it motivated us.”

Emerson Los Angeles joined several other groups and volunteers to participate in the cleanup, which was organized by Heal the Bay.

ELA students are asked to volunteer for civic engagement projects a minimum of twice per semester.
