Beyond Racial Equity Student Focus Groups & Timeline Update
Dear Emerson Community,
Since September, Beyond Racial Equity (BRE) has been deeply engaged in interviews and focus groups with the Emerson community, as well as the examination of College data and themes from the online interactive platform, HiveWise, as part of their strategic review. To allow for additional engagement and added conversation with the Emerson community, BRE has extended the strategic review timeline through April 2022, with specific attention on students through focus groups and a visioning session.
The student focus group and visioning schedule is listed below and all students are welcome to register to participate or to email Beyond Racial Equity directly to share their input.

- 2/22 at 7pm LGBTQIA+ at Emerson
- 2/23 at 7pm Accessibility at Emerson
- 2/27 at 6pm Faith at Emerson
- 2/27 at 7pm DEI at Emerson
- 3/1 at 7pm Being a Person of Color at Emerson
- 3/15: 7pm – 9pm Student Visioning Session

The outcome of BRE’s work will be a report of findings and recommendations. An update about the project will be shared with the Emerson Community before the conclusion of the academic year.
