Alums Receive Grammy Noms

Bill Burr ’93 earned a Grammy Award nomination for his album Drop Dead Years.

This is Burr’s second time being nominated for a Grammy, with the first in 2021 for his album comedy album Paper Tiger. Both nominations have been in the Best Comedy Album category. Earlier this year, Burr’s special Bill Burr: Drop Dead Years, was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming. 

Noel Carey ’11 and Julia Mattison ’11 were co-nominees for a Grammy in the Best Musical Theater Album category for Death Becomes Her. Carey and Mattison are producers and composers/lyricists of the Broadway hit. Taurean Everett, Megan Hilty, Josh Lamon, Christopher Sieber, Jennifer Simard, Michelle Williams, Sean Patrick Flahaven, and Scott M. Riesett were also co-nominees with Carey and Mattison as part of the Death Becomes Her nomination.

Carey and Mattison were nominated for Tony Awards earlier this year for Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre for the show.
