Romanska on AI’s Place in Theatre, Classrooms

Performing Arts Professor Magda Romanska participated in two AI-focused events in which she talked about how artificial intelligence is intersecting with theatre and education.

In a webinar titled AI and Theatre: From Pedagogy to Performance hosted by Digital Theatre +, a platform that offers educational materials, along with access to productions and insights from theatre practitioners, Romanska talked about how copyright laws are approaching AI and ethical uses of AI in an academic setting, among other topics.

At Ars Electronica Festival 2025, she was a guest speaker on Futures at Play: AI and Impact on Theatre, a panel focused on “practical, institutional, political, and ethical implications of AI for theatre practitioners.”

Earlier in the summer, Romanska was also invited to deliver a keynote lecture on Quantum Dramaturgy: Theory of Polyphonic Drama, at National Taiwan University of Arts, in Taipei, for the the 20th Crossover Dialogues International Conference on Performing Arts Studies. The lecture focused on the application of quantum theory modeling to multivocal narrative structures.
