McLarin to Interview Olympian Caster Semenya

Interim Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies Kim McLarin will interview Olympic gold medalist and author Caster Semenya November 1 in a Harvard Book Store-sponsored event at First Parish Church in Cambridge.

Semenya, a South African middle distance runner, won gold medals in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. She will discuss her new memoir, The Race to Be Myself, in which she writes about her fight to run as a woman amid speculation and criticism about her body.

McLarin previously interviewed Pulitzer Prize-winning author Alice Walker for WGBH’s virtual book club, Beyond the Page.
