Lee on WGA Strike & Tentative Agreement: Boston 25, WCVB

Visual and Media Arts faculty and comedy writer Ed Lee spoke with Boston 25 anchor Gene Lavanchy ’86 as the Writers Guild of America reached a tentative, “exceptional” deal on September 24 with industry studios.

Lee said there is hope for a good contract for actors’ negotiations (still underway), based on the reported gains made for writers. The work of WGA members should resume relatively soon.

Lee also weighed in on the tentative resolution with WCVB and a lesson from the strike:

They [students] can always be creating no matter what the conditions in the industry are, but also that they need to be smart about their money. It is not an industry for the weak-hearted.
