Dear Members of the Emerson Community,
It is my great pleasure to share with you that Jamie Montgomery-Hyde has been appointed to be the College’s Chief Human Resource Officer. Jamie has been operating in that role on an interim basis since Shari Stier’s departure in March, and since that time, has assumed the full responsibility for numerous HR activities on behalf of the department and the College. Jamie’s experience, poise, professionalism, collegiality and great sense of mission-driven objectives will provide the College with a great leader and partner in Human Resources.
Jamie originally joined Emerson in October 2019 as the Associate Vice President for HR Operations. In these 2+ years, Jamie has contributed greatly to many of the initiatives undertaken by HR during these last several years including implementing Workday, launching a third-party solution to support out-of-state employment (and then bringing that function back in-house), as well as providing Covid planning and support.
Reporting to Jamie are Ann-Marie Driscoll, overseeing compensation and benefits; Cathy Carney, responsible for the HR business partners and labor relations; Briana Papaleo, our lead HRIS Analyst and the soon-to-be-filled role to oversee Talent Acquisition and Learning and Development.
Under Jamie’s leadership, the HR department will continue to support all employees so they can best serve the college, and continue to closely analyze, develop and implement changes and improvements to the key functions of HR including: employee engagement, benefits, compensation, learning and development, recruitment and retention, labor and employee relations, leave management and HRIS. Jamie will also continue to be a leader advocating for diversity, equity and inclusion in HR and across the College.
Please join me in congratulating Jamie on this well-deserved promotion and appointment to serve as the College’s Chief Human Resource Officer.
Vice President for Finance and Administration
