Announcement regarding Allison Sampson, ELA

Dear members of the Emerson community,

I’m writing to share the news that Allison Sampson, Vice President and Executive Director at Emerson Los Angeles (ELA), will be leaving her position later this spring to pursue other professional opportunities. She will remain in her position at ELA through May 2, 2022.

We wish her all the best in her pursuits and thank her for her steadfast commitment to the ELA program, particularly during the COVID pandemic.

Allison will depart ELA having made a significant impact on the program, creating an inviting campus atmosphere not only for the academic work of our students, but also for many alumni in the area. Under her leadership, Allison has created vibrant programming for students and alumni and has led a highly competent administrative team, who will continue to serve our students, faculty, alumni and internship providers. Also during Allison’s tenure, several facility completion projects have been realized and completed.

Allison leaves ELA in a strong financial position, with many active cross-campus collaborations and innovations. Her recent election to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Board reflects the impact she has had on the community surrounding ELA.

In the coming months, Allison is committed to a smooth transition for the College with a clear strategic plan in place for ELA.
