Chair of the Communications Studies department Greg Payne contributed to a Globe article examining Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s anti-vaccine history. Last week, during an anti-vaccine rally, RFK Jr. said Jews during the Holocaust had more freedom than unvaccinated Americans today, and specifically mentioned Anne Frank.
Payne, a volunteer on Robert F. Kennedy’s presidential campaign in 1968, said the following:
To make a comparison with the Nazi era is not something his father would have ever done. I think Robert F. Kennedy would say [to his family] we need to be the voice of reason. Unfortunately, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is not that voice.
